Vanessa joined Pelican Garden in May of 2017 as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Since then she has brightened our home with her kind smile and pleasant attitude. She is considerate and extremely sensitive to each resident’s needs and is always ready to help no matter what the situation is. She is an excellent worker and a warm, compassionate young woman.

Kitchen Helper
Job Functions:
Our facility expects our employees to promote teamwork with other employees and hospitality and comfort for our residents.

Prepare and cook resident meals.
-
Prepare meals according to proper methods and cooking temperatures.
-
Clean work area and equipment in accordance with sanitation requirements.
-
Consistently prepare meals on time so that serving schedules are being met.
-
Serve food according to dietary guidelines, checking each tray for completeness and accuracy.
-
Monitor portion control guidelines for individual residents to prevent food waste.
-
Prepare foods for facility personnel, families, visitors, and for special occasions and events as directed by the administrator.
-
Prepare and serve food and meals in accordance with planned menus, diet plans, portion, and temperature control procedures and facility policies.
-
Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility records/information.

Qualifications:
-
Experience in preparing foods in large quantities.
-
Organized and detailed in work performance.
-
Good communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience.
-
Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in an assisted living facility.

Comply with the Resident's Rights and Facility Policies and Procedures.

Follow all kitchen safety rules.

Experience assisting with food preparation and meal service.
-
Prior experience preparing, cooking, and serving food.
-
Assist in the storage and supplies of food products.
-
Be able to handle daily and weekly food prep.
